🔼 Gamecock Forecast. You couldn’t ask for more from the weather for Saturday’s opener. News19’s official game day forecast calls for temperatures in the low 80s in the afternoon with it dropping to about 75 degrees at go time with mainly clear skies.

The hottest opening game on record for the Gamecocks? A sweltering 94 degrees on August 28, 2014 against Texas A&M while the lowest season opener kicked off at 65 degrees three different times.

🔼 A New Start. The South Carolina Cross Country season officially gets underway tonight from Spartanburg as the Gamecocks participate at the Eye Opener. South Carolina will compete in the 5K circuit under the direction of new Head Coach Tim Hall and Cross Country Coach Brock Moreaux.

🔼 Four In A Row. That’s four straight wins for South Carolina women’s soccer as your Gamecocks took down Elon, 2-0, last night in Columbia. Freshman Reagan Schubach scored her fourth of the season to put South Carolina up 1-0, then Elon tallied an own goal late in the second half. The Gamecocks are back on the pitch at home on Sunday night against Coastal Carolina.
