Never Say Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda. It’s Story Time! We’re back with an all-new episode of The Story, premiering tonight on GamecocksPlus.com at 8 p.m. ET!

South Carolina dominated its home opener in so many ways last Saturday night: from a new entrance to stellar quarterback play to special teams and beyond. Tonight’s episode of The Story takes you behind the scenes for it all, with a look at the new entrance and how it comes together, the history of 2001, and why South Carolina’s young stars made such an impact.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Parfect Debut. That’s a wrap on the ANNIKA Intercollegiate and your Gamecocks are coming home the champions! South Carolina won the season-opening, three-round competition in dominant fashion. The Gamecocks shot -26 under par over 54 holes, and finished three strokes ahead of the second-place team.

Next up? The Gamecocks will head to Tennessee for the Mason Rudolph Championship which gets underway next Friday.

🔼 Spring Plans. It’s never too early to start marking your calendar for Gamecock baseball! The SEC announced its 30-game baseball schedule for the 2024 season and South Carolina will open conference play on the road against Ole Miss on March 15. This year’s SEC Tournament is slated for May 21-26 at the Hoover Met. Check out the full schedule here.

🔼 Rookie Star. It’s officially official! Aliyah Boston is the first rookie to ever lead the WNBA in field goal percentage in a season. Boston knocked down 57.8% of her shots in her first year in the league and collected a handful of awards, including three-time WNBA Rookie of the Month and AP WNBA Rookie of the Year.

🔼 All Over The Place. Xavier Legette isn’t just making his presence felt when he’s hauling in catches from QB1, he’s making an impact on special teams, too. Legette earned his coaching staff’s weekly award as an Offensive Player of the Week and as a Special Teams Player of the Week, something his head coach says he doesn’t think he’s ever seen before in Colulmbia.

“The guy works his tail off and there’s no secret. It’s showing, I mean, he’s the special teams player of the game, he’s the offensive player of the game, and just doing so many good things,” Coach Beamer said.

Legette’s 296 receiving yards through South Carolina’s first two games of the season are the most of any Gamecock WR since 2000.

🔼 A Top 10 Team. South Carolina women’s soccer will take the pitch tomorrow night as the ninth-ranked team in the nation in the United Soccer Coaches poll. The Gamecocks open conference play at Stone Stadium tomorrow at 7 p.m. ET against Vanderbilt, a team that’s started the season hot with a 5-0-3 record. No. 9 marks the highest ranking for South Carolina so far this season!
