Home Sweet Home. Thanks for joining us last night for the live premiere of The Story, Episode 4: Home Sweet Home! If you missed it live or just want to watch it again, it’s streaming now only on GamecocksPlus.com.

It's been 294 days since the Gamecocks played a game at Williams-Brice stadium, and they weren't the only ones itching to get back under the lights at Willy-B. It was a packed house for the 2023 home opener with an electric atmosphere, a new 2001 entrance, and plenty of fireworks.

The stars did their thing, but the young bucks turned plenty of heads Saturday night.

The future is bright at South Carolina but the team is focused on now. A 47-21 win over Furman gets them back on track, but next is a date with the #1 team in the nation as the Gamecocks head to Athens.

Take a sneak peek at the incredible things we have packed into this episode like a behind-the-scenes look at the gameday effects that make the atmosphere so special, exclusive interviews, and, of course, highlights!

🔼 Quotable Quotes. Here’s a round-up of the best things your Gamecocks said after beating Furman and heading into tomorrow’s clash with Georgia:

  • “I was so young. I was 18 years old. I was running out there like a chicken with my head cut off. I was out there just trying to make plays. I just try and tell young guys, at the end of the day, it is just a game. As long as we focus on ourselves and don’t get too caught up in the atmosphere, it’s football.” - DK Joyner on his first time playing in Athens

  • “Be the defense we know we are. We weren’t really showing it at that time. It was just one of those, lock in and kind of snap us back in shape. I guess it worked. It was just one of those things that was needed.” - Alex Huntley on his Furman game speech

  • “It is a statement game. We are trying to go in there and hope for the best, knock them off. Last year against Tennessee, last year against Clemson, everybody counting us out before the game start thinking that we can’t compete with them. We are just trying to go down there and just make a statement. Show everybody that we can compete with anybody, and we can create another miracle like we did last year.” - Marcellas Dial on playing the defending national champs

  • “Spencer is a dog. Spencer is different. Everybody knows that. He is a baller at the end of the day. He is going to get the plays done and make plays when he gets the chance to.” - Eddie Lewis on QB1
