Good morning. This story behind one fan’s Marcus Lattimore jersey is the only way to start your Monday — and shows why it just means more to be a Gamecock.
What else is mixed in today’s Brew? ⤵️
⚽ Pitch perfect, plus a SportsCenter Top 10 moment
🎟️ 16 for 16
🤙 And much, much more

Young Stars. We lost track of how many young guys made plays for the Gamecocks against Furman, so we asked wide receivers coach, Justin Stepp, to take us back through the tape. In this edition of the Gamecocks Film Room, we break down the biggest plays from the youngest stars on offense — and get a better sense of why the future is so bright in Columbia.
Scoring Big Goals…And Having Them, Too. Senior women’s soccer forward Cat Barry is a marked woman. She earned first-team All-SEC honors last year, and led the South Carolina women's soccer team with 10 goals and seven assists as the Gamecocks won the SEC Tournament and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. Opponents will be doing their best to put the clamps on her in 2023, but she still has big goals for this season and beyond. Hear her story on this week’s episode of Gamecock Talk!

What A Comeback. South Carolina women’s tennis got off to a great start at the Furman Fall Classic over the weekend. Shahar Biran earned her first singles W in the Garnet & Black with a come-from-behind upset over No. 44 Casie Wooten. Misa Malkin and Olympe Lancelot also snagged singles wins on the day for the Gamecocks.
🔼 Pitch Perfect. It was a perfect weekend on the pitch for the Gamecocks! South Carolina men’s soccer opened Sun Belt play in a big way, taking down No. 24 Kentucky in Lexington, 1-0, behind a goal from Ethan Dekel Daks.
Meanwhile, the women’s squad started SEC play in a similar fashion, beating Vanderbilt 3-1. The Commodores entered the match unbeaten before running into the Gamecocks, who saw goals from Megan Spiehs, Corinna Zullo, and Shae O’Rourke.
And in case you missed it, Spiehs’ goal ended up at No. 2 on SportsCenter’s Top 10 Plays!
🔼 Defensive Standout. TJ Sanders had himself a day for South Carolina on Saturday night. The defensive tackle finished the game with nine tackles, including two for a loss, a pass break up, and a sack.
Sanders’ teammates took note, with linebacker Debo Williams saying: “That man makes plays, man. He does it in practice too. I just told him to keep coming along and playing like that. I love it.”
🔼 16 For 16. Ready for your South Carolina women’s hoops team to return to the court? Make sure you’re in the stands at Colonial Life Arena when they do! To celebrate Coach Staley’s 16th season in the Garnet & Black, the Gamecocks are launching a campaign to sell 16,000 season tickets, with the opportunity for FAMS to join the “Community Supporter” program.
To become a Community Supporter, you can purchase a season ticket to donate back to the Athletics Department for distribution to different local groups. Community Supporter tickets are $25 for a general admission season ticket to donate, or $35 for a general admission season ticket to donate and a commemorative season ticket as a keepsake for the purchaser.
