Tailgate Talks. Two of the best quarterbacks to ever come through South Carolina happened to be teammates and it led to some of the best years the program has ever seen. But with only one football to go around, it also produced competition, growth, and maybe a tiny bit of animosity.

However, all these years later, Connor Shaw and Stephen Garcia are closer than they’ve ever been. With the help of their favorite fullback, they sit down to talk about those great times as a Gamecock, what life is like now, and everything in between on this episode of Tailgate Talks.

🔺 Lookin’ McFly. South Carolina football is hopping in the DeLorean and going back to the ‘80s this weekend! They’ll be wearing throwback uniforms from 1980 when George Rogers became the Heisman Trophy winner. The white helmets feature a large Block C logo and the memorable stars on the front. The garnet jerseys have “Carolina” in large block letters and the white collar resembles the common neck rolls.

🔺 ‘Cocks Go Down To Georgia. The women’s soccer team starts SEC play tonight at Georgia! The match will kick off at 6 p.m. on ESPNU. The unbeaten Gamecocks are coming off a shutout win over Georgia State.

🔺 Influential Gamecocks. Two South Carolinians made the Sports Illustrated 50 Most Influential Figures in Sports list! Women’s basketball head coach Dawn Staley lands on the list as an icon and leader. She has brought the sport a great amount of attention as a player and as the coach of the Gamecock powerhouse. Former Gamecock A’ja Wilson made the list as a player. She has proven to be the best women’s basketball player in the world right now.
