How To Breakout. If you've seen any trick plays over the past couple of years while watching a South Carolina football game, you've come across Tonka Hemingway. He's made a name for himself with his versatility in key moments. Now, the senior is ready for a breakout year as a force on the defensive line.
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Keep Rolling. No. 13 South Carolina women’s soccer keeps on cruising! The Gamecocks posted an impressive 5-0 win over Coastal Carolina on Sunday night to get to 5-0-1 on the season. The Gamecocks are outscoring their opponents by a whopping 18-2 goals this season. The squad will be back at Stone Stadium under the lights on Thursday night to take on No. 4 UNC at 7 p.m. ET in a Top 15 battle.
🔼 Gamecocks In The WNBA. As the WNBA postseason inches closer, let’s check in on some of our favorite former Gamecocks in the pros.
Allisha Gray has shown no signs of slowing down, averaging more than 17 points and almost five rebounds per game across her 35 starts for the Atlanta Dream as the team vies for a playoff berth, while Tyasha Harris’ sharp shooting from beyond the arc (she’s tied for the league lead in three-point percentage!) has the Connecticut Sun locked into the third seed.
A’ja Wilson is still hot in Las Vegas as our superstar is averaging 22.3 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game as the Aces push for the top seed in the playoffs. Zia Cooke is giving the Sparks strong minutes off the bench, averaging close to five points per game in 14 minutes on the court.
Meanwhile, Aliyah Boston continues to write history as she set the Indiana Fever franchise record for rebounds in a season and still leads the entire WNBA in field goal percentage.
🔼 X-Factor. Xavier Legette showed why he’ll continue to be the X-factor for the Gamecocks this season. Legette hauled in nine catches for 178 yards on Saturday night; those 178 yards are more than Legette had in any of his first four seasons in Columbia.
“I told y’all I put the time in for this,” Legette said following the game. “It was time for that. It was time for me to ball out.”
🤔 GAMECOCK TRIVIA
Shots, Shots, Shots. Cat Barry’s shooting dominance knows no bounds. She moved into fourth place all-time with 207 career shots. Do you know who owns the top spot for shots on goal in the South Carolina women’s soccer history books?
