Good Morning Gamecocks! There are plenty of chances to support the Gamecocks on campus this weekend!

Volleyball will host the Garnet & Black scrimmage tomorrow at 5 p.m. Afterwards, the men’s soccer team will host Mercer for an exhibition match. On Sunday, the No. 21 women’s soccer team will kick off the season against Furman.

🔺 Fear The Specs. South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers has worn glasses since middle school, picking up the nickname ‘Specs’. Don’t let the glasses fool you, his 6’3, 240-pound body has been the foundation of this exceptional athlete. As a true freshman, he played in three games. He went 4-4 with two touchdowns against Furman, proving that his future is bright.

Off the football field, Sellers likes to enjoy tee times on the golf course. He also dreams of becoming an architect. Learn more about the sophomore quarterback!

🔺 Run It. The 2024 cross country schedule is set! They’ll start the season on August 30 at the Covered Bridge Open. They’ll remain in the Palmetto State for two meets, one at Furman and the other at the NCAA Southeast Regional in Rock Hill. The season will finish up with postseason action in November.

🔺 Drive Like A Champion. No one enjoys taking a trip to the DMV, but this one will be worth it! The Alumni Association has partnered with the South Carolina DMV to bring fans a special plate honoring the three-time women’s basketball National Champions! For $70, you’ll receive the special license plate and help support academic scholarships.

🔺 Goat Talk. Not only is A’ja Wilson in the game, but she’s the best. The former Gamecock earned a 99 overall rating and is the highest-rated WNBA player in NBA 2K history!
