🔼 Five Seconds To Spare. Why win in the final minutes when you can do it in the final seconds? Ethan Dekel Daks scored with five seconds left to lift South Carolina men’s soccer to a 1-0 Sun Belt Conference victory over visiting Old Dominion.
How’d it go down? With 34 seconds left in the match, Dekel Daks drew a foul outside the 18-yard box. With the clock ticking down to the final seconds, Dekel Daks stepped up to take the free kick from 28 yards out. With five seconds left, he delivered for the Gamecocks with his third goal of the season to the upper right 90—sending the team and bench into a massive dog pile celebration.
🔼 How Sweep It Is. No. 8 South Carolina equestrian had its first road test of the season on Friday, sweeping the day over South Dakota State and Fresno State. The Gamecocks won 12-8 over the Jackrabbits, followed by a 12-4 victory over the Bulldogs. South Carolina now moves to a 4-0 start to the season.
🔼 Fight To The Finish. Gamecock volleyball dropped a tight five-set decision against No. 25 Auburn afternoon—losing a 2-1 set advantage with each of the three lost sets decided by the minimum two points. Four hitters finished with 10 or more kills for South Carolina, led by 15 from Kiune Fletcher and Riley Whitesides.
🔼 One On One. No. 13 South Carolina women’s soccer heads back home with a 1-1 draw against Missouri after facing the Tigers yesterday afternoon. Despite the draw, the Gamecocks remain undefeated in conference play so far this season.
After a scoreless first half, South Carolina turned things up in the second half, when Corinna Zullo capitalized on a deflected ball inside the six, passing it right through a Missouri defender’s legs to put South Carolina on top 1-0 in the 63rd minute. The goal was Zullo’s second of the season and 14th of her career.
