The CockTale Hour. It's just about time to wrap up "talkin' season" as football coaches are back home in their offices after SEC Media Days. We have a recap of the events in Dallas, and start our positional breakdown with the skill groups on this week's episode of The CockTale Hour!

🔺 Full Swing. The Gamecocks are putting on the pads and getting ready to rock this week! Football student-athletes will report to camp on Thursday with the first scheduled practice set for Friday. Media Day is also on Thursday, Coach Beamer will hold a press conference from 3-3:30 p.m. We’re getting closer, Gamecock fans!

🔺 Meet The Newbies. The national championship women’s basketball team returns all but one from last season, plus they’ve added three newcomers. Two freshmen and one transfer are coming in hot. Freshman guard Maddy McDaniel, freshman forward Joyce Edwards, and junior transfer forward from Arkansas Maryam Dauda met with media last week to introduce themselves.

🔺 Francisco In France. Former Gamecock men’s tennis player Francisco Cerundolo won his first match of the 2024 Paris Olympics. He defeated Marcelo Tomas Barrios Vera, 6-2, 6-1.

🔺 Winner, Winner. South Carolina women’s golfer Louise Rydqvist won the 2024 European Ladies’ Amateur Championship! She shot 14-under to win the tournament. The win gives her an exemption into the AIG Women’s Open in St. Andrews, Scotland, one of the five majors in ladies professional golf.
