Tailgate Talks. There’s a brand new episode of Tailgate Talks with Patrick DiMarco and Stephen Garcia coming out tomorrow, featuring Coach Shane Beamer. For now, you can catch up on last week’s episode with Steve Spurrier! The Head Ball Coach himself is on the line and these three have a lot to talk about. From reminiscing about some of the greatest moments in program history to explaining some unexpected early exits, we cover it all. Of course, we also left some time for β€œthis, that, and the other” as well.

πŸ”Ί Game Week Deets. Gamecock football kicks off on Saturday as they host Old Dominion at 4:15 p.m. Gamecock Village presented by Farm Bureau Insurance opens at 11:45 a.m. and will feature live music, student-athlete autographs, plus food and drinks! The Gamecock Walk will begin at 2:15 p.m. along Tommy Suggs Garnet Way, then make your way to Gamecock Park Amphitheater for the Pregame Pep Rally. Find out more and check out the gameday timeline!

πŸ”Ί From Gamecock To Coach. Former South Carolina baseball player Rob Rinehart is set to be inducted into the York Sports Hall of Fame! Since helping the Gamecocks reach the College World Series in 1985, he’s dedicated his time to coaching. He’s coached high school basketball, football, and volunteered in baseball. His .357 career batting average is still in the top 10 at South Carolina.

πŸ”Ί Triple Threat. Three Gamecock track & field student-athletes will represent the USA at the U20 World Championships in Peru. Zaya Akins, Cynteria James, and Cheyla Scott will compete this week, starting today. James will run in the 100m prelims at 11:10 a.m. Akins will run in the 400m prelims tomorrow at 12:05 p.m. and Scott will compete in the high jump on Thursday at 12:05 p.m.
