Good morning. Is there a better way to start your Wednesday than with a little behind-the-scenes of Gamecock football coaches getting these players prepped and ready for game day? We didn’t think so either.

🔼 Make A Splash. South Carolina swimming & diving head coach Jeff Poppell has announced the addition of seven transfers for this upcoming season.
Ahmed Rateb leads the way after spending his undergraduate career at Florida Atlantic University, primarily swimming freestyle and butterfly sprint events. Originally from Cairo, Egypt, the new Gamecock holds three FAU program records as well as four FAU freshman records. At the CCSA Championships, he holds silver medals in the 100 fly, 200 fly, and 800 free relay, as well as bronze medals in the 200 free relay, 400 free relay, and 400 medley relay.
🔼 Gotta Hand It To ‘Em. We don’t mean to alarm anybody, but South Carolina football’s team chemistry is at an all-time high. Case in point? The players showing off their best handshakes. Spencer Rattler and Tanner Bailey were solid leadoffs, we’re afraid we have to throw the challenge flag on Kai Kroger and Alex Herrera because those are technically high-fives, and much more.
🤔 GAMECOCK TRIVIA
24 days to kickoff. And for today’s trivia question, we’re going all the way back to the 1924 football season when South Carolina kicked off their season against a fellow Palmetto State squad that’s now a Division II program playing out of Due West.
Our question today—can you name that team?

Answer: Erskine College
Fun Fact: That 1924 season opener was also the largest margin of victory that South Carolina enjoyed all season as they won 47-0 en route to a 7-3 season in the Southern Conference.
