My Time. Now an EMMY Award-winning original short film, "Small Town, Big Dreams: Darius Rush’s Life Calling" tells the story of the Gamecock Football cornerback’s journey from Kingstree, SC – a town of only 3,000 – to the University of South Carolina and onto fulfilling his dream of making it to the NFL. Follow along during “Darius Rush Day” and join the celebration on draft night while hearing from the people of Kingstree, like his mom, brother, and Nana, who helped him achieve his goals and overcome unimaginable loss at a young age.

🔺 Game Time. We have a game time, Fam! The women’s basketball team will play in the USLBM Coast to Coast Challenge featuring the Hoopfest Women’s Basketball Classic at Dickies Arena. The three-time National Champions will take on TCU on December 8 at 7 p.m. on an ESPN network. Tickets will go on presale on August 12 and on sale to the general public on August 16 through the Dickies Arena box office.
🔺 Welcome Party. The equestrian team has hired T.R. Potts as the new Western coach! He has trained horses for all levels of competition, brought clients to the winner’s circle numerous times, and is known for his positive attitude and level of commitment to helping others.
🔺 Bigger Than The Game. Former running back Lovasea Carroll walked away from football last spring due to recurring injuries, but he learned that there are bigger things than football. He spent this summer with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department through the Athletic Department’s Beyond Sports Professional Development and Summer Internship Program. He has learned he wants to work for the Secret Service or FBI in the future. Read more about his story here.
🔺 Supersize. Former Gamecock Xavier Legette is still rocking No. 17 in the NFL. The rookie is making himself seen in camp with the Carolina Panthers. Look at those hops!
