The Story: Ready For Liftoff. It's almost time for launch in Columbia, as Raheim "Rocket" Sanders gets ready to suit up in the Garnet & Black for the first time next weekend. Everybody knows what the 2022 First-Team All-SEC running back is capable of, but not many know everything he's gone through to get back on the field. After an injury-plagued junior season and offseason shoulder surgery, it's taken an extreme amount of dedication and a village of staff members to get Rocket ready for the 2024 season. Now he's ready for liftoff.

Tailgate Talks. Grab your visors and a cold one, this could get interesting. The Head Ball Coach himself, Steve Spurrier, is on the line and these three have a lot to talk about. From reminiscing about some of the greatest moments in program history to explaining some unexpected early exits, we cover it all. Of course, we also left some time for “this, that, and the other” as well.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Tip Of The Hat. Women’s soccer freshman Katie Shea Collins had quite the start to her collegiate career! She was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring a hat-trick in 29 minutes against Furman on Sunday. Her first goal was scored 34 seconds into the match, the second-fastest goal in program history.

🛩️ She will travel to Colombia to train with the U.S. U-20 Youth National Team for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and will be away from the Gamecocks for a few games.

🔺 Tee Times. The 2024-25 men’s golf schedule has arrived! The Gamecocks will play in four fall events and five spring events in Coach Rob Bradley’s inaugural season at South Carolina.

They’ll open the season at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate, September 6-8. For the fourth-straight season, they’ll open the spring at the Puerto Rico Classic, February 10-12. The Gamecocks will co-host the 20th annual Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate in mid-March, an event they’ve won five times.

⛳️ The women’s golf schedule has also arrived! SEC Coach of the Year Kalen Anderson will lead the team in eight regular season events. The Gamecocks finished last season ranked No. 7 by Clippd.

They’ll open the season at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate as the defending champions, September 9-11. They’ll begin the spring at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge, February 2-4. South Carolina will host the 13th Darius Rucker Intercollegiate March 3-5 with live coverage on the Golf Channel.

🔺 Take A Dip. Since we’re discussing schedules, let’s dive into the 2024-25 swimming & diving schedule! The season will include five dual meets, two tri-meets, and a handful of invitationals — including the Gamecock Invitational. They’ll start the season at the Osprey Sprint & Relay Invite in late September. The conference fun begins when they host an All-SEC tri-meet with Georgia and Vanderbilt in October. SEC Championships will be in Athens, Georgia, February 17-22.
